Game Review :

Disclaimer: This is the first Resident Evil I have played, so I have no knowledge of the backstory before this or how true to past games the gameplay/controls are.I think I could have like this game if the controls weren’t so bad. I had many occasions where I would be running along trying to do something and then my character would just randomly start looking at something else and I would end up attacked. Or sometimes I would be moving in a certain direction and either the controls would become either almost non-responsive or hyper-responsive, making it difficult to do certain things. As for gameplay.

I admit to having become rather spoiled. I have gotten used to seeing how much damage I’m causing to my opponents (monsters as I only play single-player). This is especially problematic when fighting bosses or new monsters as you have almost no indication of how much damage you are causing.I admit that one or more of the problems I have encountered may be caused by either myself or my system. However, I cannot recommed this game as is. I will not be replaying it. I don’t know if I will try RE7 to see if things improve with the next RE version.
