Game Review :
One of the best sports games I’ve played in awhile. I don’t play many as I am typically horrible at them. I have however always been a fan of the Mutant League games having played the original 2 back in the 90’s (Mutant League Football and Mutant League Hockey).
This is pretty much an up to date version of those games. Modern physics and play control. Both which were integrated well and easy to use. My first game was, as I predicted, horrible, I was creamed and yet at the end of it all, I was still smiling instead of frustrated. I actually didn’t mind loosing as even in loosing. You still have fun. Of course, much like Blood Bowl, winning, though nice, isn’t really the point of the game. Sure we all want to play a good season, and win, but at the same time I love trying to destroy the other team.
By uh.. ok, no nice way to put it, but killing the other teams players, hey, they have it comming to them. This is not a game where you use sportsman like conduct. They will and are trying to kill your team, so fair is fair. If you like Blood Bowl, then you will love MFL which as much as I like BB. MFL plays more like your typical football game (Blitz mode in BB, but with actual play books).
If you prefer a more turn based game where you can strategize, then stick to BB.Now you’ll notice I have less than an hour played, I’ve been waiting for the update and additional teams to really sit down and play (I want the werewolf team), but from the 2-3 games I played (won 2 out of 3) I can honestly say this game is worth the purchase considering I’m not normally a big sports game fan. I look forward to playing it when I’m not in the mood for my regular games (FFXIV, MWO, Skyrim, FO4, Forza Horizon 3). If you’re not sure you’ll like it, try the demo first, but you will more than likely end up buying it after that small taste.
If you like the game then Please buy it to support the developers Steam Link.
